Community based Child & Family Project

Aosóg is a community based Child and Family Project based in the North West Inner City of Dublin. Aosóg was set up as a direct response to a need identified by people living and working in the area. The Project works with children aged 7 to 12 years and their families.

As Aosóg works with children and their families,Aosóg has A Child Protection Policy adhering to Children First Guidelines 2012, the welfare and safety of the children attending the Project is central to our work. Staff work in partnership with parents/ guardians to support children’s wellbeing and safety.

    Aim Of The Project

    The aim of the project is to support the personal and social development of the children we work with and their families, in a safe, caring and fun environment, so that they reach their full potential socially and educationally.

    Staffing

    Aosóg is managed by a local voluntary committee made up of people living and working in the area.
    The Project is staffed by trained personnel; Project Leader, Project Workers (2)and a part time Administrator. The Project takes third level students on block placement subject to interview, suitability and Garda Vetting. Aosóg also facilitates Transition Year and LCA students for work experience when possible and subject to interview and suitability.

    The Project receives core funding from Tusla, the Child and Family Agency, and small grant schemes.
